AI data policy
With your permission, Midl shares the following information for processing on external providers' servers for search and taste matching:
- OpenAI: your chosen interests, such as “coffee”.
- Voyage AI: your search text, preferences derived from interests and saved venues, and public venue or event details for matching.
We exclude account identifiers, contact details, profile photos, credentials, social relationships, and saved starting locations (such as home or work), their addresses and coordinates, and travel routes. Saved venues are different from saved starting locations. We do not sell this information.
Avoid entering personal or sensitive information in search text or interests; information you enter may be processed, so this is not guaranteed to be anonymous.
Your choice
AI search and external taste matching require your explicit agreement. You can decline and still use profiles, saved collections and shared results. Change or withdraw consent in Your profile → Settings → AI data processing. Withdrawal stops new processing, but cannot recall completed or in-progress requests.
Further information
OpenAI: we have not opted into model training on our API data. Under standard settings, request content may be kept in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days.
Voyage AI: we have opted out of retaining new request content or using it for model training; it deletes this content after processing. This opt-out does not apply retrospectively to earlier requests.
Midl separately keeps recommendation inputs and matching records to evaluate and improve recommendations. Account-linked records are deleted with your account; other retention periods are explained in our Privacy Policy.
